Performance of EMS, Inc. requires the use of equipment and exposure to conditions that can be dangerous.  To reduce these risks, EMS, Inc. has implemented broad training and educational programs as well as safety policies and regulations.  Field employees undergo extensive health and safety training, and employees working on hazardous waste sites receive training and periodic refresher courses to maintain proficiency in accordance with OSHA requirements 29 CFR 1910.120.  Continuing education and cross training are also strongly encouraged at all levels of our organization.

• 8 hr. HAZWOPER Refresher Course
• 10 hr. OSHA Construction Safety & Health
• Confined Space Rescue Training (pictures)

• Aerial Device Operation
• Fork Lift Operation

In Addition we have one employee Certified as an:

• API Tank Entry Supervisor

And three employees Certified in Illinois for:

• UST Decommissioning

The entire EMS, Inc. staff is placed into a specific medical surveillance program which is part of our published Corporate Health and Safety Policy.  This program includes routine medical physicals by a contracted industrial physician.  EMS, Inc. also takes part in the DOT drug and alcohol random selection program in which employees are chosen randomly ever quarter.  All employees are involved in our "Right-to-Know" program which includes the filing of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for each chemical we handle.
